Artist
Statement

I am a designer and illustrator influenced by both Western and indigenous mesoamerican folklore, occultism, and ancient history. My work aims to reframe these contexts and place them in a world of my creation, where my dreams and nightmares invite the viewer to think about dualities: light and dark; joy and sorrow; life and death. My current project Inframundo is a playground for me to experiment with chthonic themes and serves as a personal memento mori.

My process pulls me back and forth between digital and traditional mediums. The bulk of my finished pieces are digital illustrations and paintings created in programs like Photoshop and Procreate. I conceptualize and experiment in my sketchbooks with pencils, pens, markers, and watercolor paints. For finer art pieces, I create linocut prints; I also have experience in silkscreen, etching, and lithography.

In recent years I have expanded into crochet and writing fiction. When I’m not creating, I find inspiration in nature, hard rock music, and ancient history.
